In Motion Technology transforms first-responder vehicles into secure mobile local area networks (LANs), creating a Vehicle Area Network. These VANs are just like the local area networks you have in your home or office; secure gateways to the outside world for all your communications needs, but they are purpose built for the “in motion” workforce. The VAN enables you to communicate while you’re on the move, and allows you to seamlessly switch between up to 4 networks to ensure your data gets where you need it to go.
In Motion Technology’s vehicle solution is the onBoard Mobile Gateway (oMG) which provides the LAN capability. The oMG will allow you to connect all your IP devices, whether they’re wired or wireless; there is no need for a separate modem or network card for each device. The oMG acts as a VPN client, so all your end-devices are secure – no need to outfit all your devices with VPN client software. And because you can select up to 4 networks for your WAN connection – any cellular, private IP, satellite or WiFi network, you’re assured that your data is being delivered reliably, and at the lowest cost.
The onBoard Mobility Manager allows you to manage your mobile network. With GPS onboard, you can view your mobile network on a map, to see where your network is now, and over time. You can view the health of the overall network with a dashboard and act on problems immediately. In addition, you can configure the oMGs using the management system – no need to bring the fleet into the depot to make software changes and updates.
