In Motion Technology Selected as Finalist in Wireless Innovation Contest (WIC’07)
Winners to Meet with Mentor Panel of Industry Experts During CTIA Wireless
Vancouver, BC, March 15, 2007 – The Wireless Innovation Network of BC (WINBC), the producer of the Wireless Innovation Contest 2007 (WIC’07), today announced In Motion Technology, a leader in vehicle area networks for public safety, has been selected as a finalist in the Taking Care of Business category for the Public Sector
In Motion Technology provides cognitive wireless systems enabling public safety organizations to communicate life-critical information while in motion. For example, In Motion’s vehicle-area networks dynamically sense and select the best network enabling an emergency medical response professional to send a patient’s electronic health record from an ambulance to a hospital while en route, a police officer to access video or driver records from a patrol car, a fire fighter to access building blueprints at the scene of a fire and a municipality IT director to provide the communications infrastructure to support these types of applications.
“We are excited to be chosen by WINBC as a finalist in the Wireless Innovation Contest and be part of such an elite group,” said Kirk Moir, CEO, In Motion Technology. “This recognition validates In Motion as a leading provider of seamless connectivity for people in motion.”
The annual contest received entries from all over North America including California, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Florida, Washington DC, Massachusetts, New York, BC, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario. The finalists were selected by independent judges representing TELUS, Nokia Multimedia, Alcatel-Lucent, Guidewire Group, 3rd Eye Consulting, Sprint-Nextel and WebMobility Ventures.
WINBC will be announcing the five winners of the fourth annual wireless contest at a reception to be held Monday March 26th, just prior to the start of CTIA WIRELESS 2007, Orlando FL, March 27-29. Winners will have the opportunity to meet with the panel of judges to receive constructive feedback on their company and solution in a one-hour closed door session.
A benefit valued at $100,000, Wireless Excellence winners are rewarded with targeted exposure in media and at trade shows, inclusion in a special case study publication to be produced by IDC, and the one-hour mentor session with the panel of judges during CTIA Wireless.
