John McEwen

John is a co-founder of Discovery Capital, and a director of the BC Discovery Fund (VCC) Inc. He has worked with nearly 200 technology companies, and serves on several investee company boards. John spearheaded corporate finance initiatives for companies such as Sierra Wireless Inc. and Circon Systems Corp., accelerating their development by attracting key corporate and additional venture capital backing. He is well known in the B.C. technology community as past operations chair of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Prior to co-founding Discovery Capital, John worked with IBM Canada Ltd. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

Greg Peet

Joining In Motion Technology’s board of directors in April 2010, Greg is an independent company director and brings with him a wealth of experience developing and growing technology companies. As former CEO of ALI Technologies (TSE: ALT), a leading medical image management solutions provider that was acquired by McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK) for $330 million USD, Greg navigated the company through the largest all-cash technology acquisition in British Columbia history. In 2002, Greg was recognized as Pacific Canada Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young. He currently serves on the Premier’s Technology Council of British Columbia and on the boards of a number of public and private companies.

David Raffa

David is the chief operating officer of Lions Capital Corporation and fund manager for BC Advantage (VCC) Funds. He began his career as a scientist with an environmental engineering firm before becoming a corporate finance lawyer specializing in the technology sector. As chairman of ActiveState Corp, David led the sale of the company to Sophos PLC of the UK in September 2003. As co-founder of Amorfix Life Sciences Ltd. (TSX:AMF), David helped grow the company from inception to the completion of an initial public offering. In 2007, David led the sale of Advantage portfolio company, Parasun Technologies, to Uniserve Corp. (TSX:USS). David was named as one of BC’s top 25 “New Elite” innovators in the technology industry by BC Business magazine. David has a Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Leonard Hordyk

Leonard is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and business operations, and brings more than two decades of experience leading, financing and developing strategic partnerships to the In Motion Technology team.  Prior to joining the company, he was President and CEO of Vancouver-based TIR Systems Ltd. where he led the company’s efforts to become one of the world’s leading innovators in next generation lighting systems.  Prior to its listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange and eventual acquisition by Royal Philips Electronics in June 2007, his leadership enabled TIR to build a strong Intellectual Property portfolio, filing 187 patents and achieving exponential revenue growth. Before joining TIR Systems, Leonard held a number of senior management positions with Motorola’s Wireless Data group, where he gained global experience and provided leadership for product development and systems, sales and marketing, business development and operations.

Kirk Moir

Kirk co-founded In Motion Technology in 2002.  Before In Motion, Kirk was senior director of marketing with Acterna, a global leader in telecom test and management products.  Previous to that, he held development, delivery and marketing positions with MPR Teltech and Applied Digital Access specializing in network management software products for large service providers.  Kirk has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Manitoba.
